Date Announced for Inquest into the Death of James Peter Duquette

Guelph -- Dr. Dirk Huyer, regional supervising coroner for the central region, Guelph office, today announced that a date has been set for the inquest into the death of James Peter Duquette.

Mr. Duquette, age 67, died on June 25, 2010, from injuries sustained while working on a construction project in Simcoe County.  An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Duquette's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last four days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tues., June 18, 2013, at the Oro-Medonte Council Chambers, Township of Oro-Medonte, 148 Line 7, South Oro.  Dr. Maarthen Reinders will preside as inquest coroner and Kathryn Hull will be counsel to the coroner.
