Inquest into the Death of Sean Ehrenreich Announced

Kingston -- Dr. Peter Clark, Regional Supervising Coroner for the East Region, Peterborough Office, today announced that an inquest will be held in the death of Sean Ehrenreich.

Mr. Ehrenreich, age 34, died on Aug. 3, 2008, at Kingston General Hospital following a transfer from Quinte Detention Centre.  An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Ehrenreich's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last one day and to hear from seven witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Napanee Court House, 97 Thomas St. E., Napanee. Dr. Gordon Watt will be presiding coroner and Edward Bradley will be counsel to the coroner.
