Date Announced for Inquest into the Death of Jeyakumar Nadarasa

Dr. William Lucas, Deputy Chief Coroner for Inquests, today announced a date and location for the inquest into the death of Jeyakumar Nadarasa.

Mr. Nadarasa, age 32, died on Jan. 24, 2009, after his car collided with a flat-bed tow truck. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Nadarasa's death and will include an examination of safety issues pertaining to tow truck operation in Ontario. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 16 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at the John Sopinka Court House, 45 Main St. East, Hamilton. Dr. Jack Stanborough will preside as inquest coroner and Karen Shea will be counsel to the coroner.
