Inquest into the Death of David Hughes Announced

Dr. Roger Skinner, Acting Regional Supervising Coroner for the Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of David Hughes.

Mr. Hughes, age 63, died on Dec. 21, 2010, as of result of injuries sustained during the course of his employment at a construction project in Oakville.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Hughes' death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at the Best Western Plus, 161 Chisholm Dr., Milton. Dr. Robert Boyko will preside as inquest coroner and Amanda Camara will be counsel to the coroner.
