Inquest Announced into the Death of Atilla Szabo

Dr. Roger Skinner, Acting Regional Supervising Coroner for the Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Atilla Szabo.

Mr. Szabo, age 34, died on Oct. 25, 2009, from injuries sustained while working on a roofing construction project in Oakville. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Szabo's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last one day and to hear from approximately four witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at the Town of Halton Hills Civic Centre, 1 Halton Hills Dr., Halton Hills. Dr. John Ewen will preside as inquest coroner and Emily Rhoda will be counsel to the coroner.
