Details Announced for Inquest into the Death of Adam Sprague

Dr. William Lucas, Deputy Chief Coroner for Inquests, today announced details for the inquest into the death of Adam Sprague.

Mr. Sprague, age 25, died on Nov. 11, 2010, while in custody of the Orangeville Police Services. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Sprague's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last eight days and to hear from approximately 18 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at the Orangeville Courthouse, 10 Louise St. Dr. Jack Stanborough will preside as inquest coroner and Karen Shea will be counsel to the coroner.
