Inquest into the Death of Erich Schwarz Announced

Dr. Jack Stanborough, Regional Supervising Coroner for the West Region, Hamilton Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Erich Schwarz.

Mr. Schwarz, age 69, died on March 25, 2011, while employed at a construction site in Cayuga. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Schwarz's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately six witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at the Cayuga Courthouse, 55 Munsee St., Cayuga. Dr. Colin Zides will preside as inquest coroner and Greg Smith will be counsel to the coroner.
