Inquest into the Death of Jonathan Dew Announced

Dr. William Lucas, Deputy Chief Coroner for Inquests, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Jonathan Dew.

Mr. Dew, age 26, died on Sept. 21, 2012, at London Health Sciences Centre - Victoria Site, following transfer to hospital from the Windsor Jail.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Dew's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 15 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at time 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the Superior Court of Justice, 245 Windsor Ave., Windsor. Dr. Rick Mann will preside as inquest coroner and Elizabeth Brown will be counsel to the coroner.
