New Details for the Inquest into the Death of Gerald Su Go Announced

Dr. James Edwards, Regional Supervising Coroner for the Central Region, Toronto East Office, today announced a new date and location for the inquest into the death of Gerald Su Go.

Mr. Go, age 53, died on May 14, 2010, during transfer to hospital while he was an inmate at the Toronto East Detention Centre. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Go's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Forensic Services and Coroner's Complex, 25 Morton Shulman Ave., Toronto. Dr. David Eden will preside as inquest coroner and Rita Koehl will be counsel to the coroner.
