Inquest into the Death of Edward Irvin Announced

Dr. Rick Mann, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, London Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Edward Irvin.

Mr. Irvin, age 58, died on April 23, 2013, from injuries received during the course of his employment at a construction site in Oxford County. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Irvin's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately seven witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the Waterloo Region Courthouse, 85 Frederick St., Kitchener. Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke will preside as inquest coroner and Teresa Donnelly will be counsel to the coroner.
