Inquest into the Death of Keith Patterson Announced

Dr. David Eden, Regional Supervising Coroner for Inquests, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Keith Patterson.

Mr. Patterson, 30, died on September 30, 2014, at the London Health Sciences Centre following transfer from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Patterson's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 12 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at the Middlesex County Building, 399 Ridout Street, London. Dr. Rick Mann will preside as inquest coroner and Kenna Dalrymple will be counsel to the coroner.
