Inquest Date into the Death of Jermaine Ennis Announced

Dr. William J. Lucas, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central West Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Jermaine Ennis.

Mr. Ennis, 36, died on Oct. 28, 2011, during the course of his employment at a construction site in Brampton. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Ennis' death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last two days and to hear from five witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 at the Provincial Offences Courthouse, 5 Ray Lawson Blvd., Brampton, 2nd Floor. Dr. Shane Teper will preside as inquest coroner and Alanna Fedak-Tarnopolsky will be counsel to the coroner.
