Inquest Date into the Death of Marc Nelson Announced

Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Ottawa Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Marc Nelson.

Mr. Nelson, 44, died on April 21, 2014, while employed at a construction site in Ottawa. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Nelson's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately eight witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Ave. West, Keefer Rm. Dr. Robert Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner and John Semenoff will be counsel to the coroner.
