Inquest into the Death of Nicholas Lalonde Announced

Dr. Jack Stanborough, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Nicholas Lalonde.

Mr. Lalonde, 23, died on Oct, 11, 2013, while working on a construction site. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Lalonde's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at the Region of Waterloo Building, 20 Weber Street E., Kitchener. Dr. John Ewen will preside as inquest coroner and Sidney McLean will be counsel to the coroner.
