Inquest Date into the Death of Junaid Younas Announced

Dr. James Edwards, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Junaid Younas.

Mr. Younas, 39, died on Sept. 10, 2013, while working on a construction project in Toronto. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Younas' death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately five witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Jan.11, 2016 at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex, Court Room B, 25 Morton Shulman Avenue, Toronto. Dr. Roger Skinner will preside as inquest coroner and Onelia Delgado will be counsel to the coroner.
