Inquest into the Death of Manuel Jacob Announced

Dr. Roger Skinner, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto West Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Manuel Jacob.

Mr. Jacob, 38, died on May 14, 2010, while working on a construction site as a roofer. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Jacob's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately six witnesses.

The inquest will commence at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex, Court Room B, 25 Morton Shulman Ave. Toronto. Dr. Reuven Jhirad will preside as inquest coroner and Michael Blain will serve as coroner's counsel.
