Inquest Date into the Death of Mr. Duong Cui Announced

Dr. Jennifer Arvanitis, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central East Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Duong Cui.

Mr. Cui, 47, died on March 10, 2013, during the course of his employment at a construction site in Vaughan. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Cui's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last four days and to hear from 12 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at the East Gwillimbury Town Council chamber, 19000 Leslie St., Sharon. Dr. Michael Martin will preside as inquest coroner and Marcella Henschel will be counsel to the coroner.
