Inquest into the Death of Andrew Michael Jajko Announced

Dr. David Eden, Regional Supervising Coroner for Inquests, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Andrew Michael Jajko.

Mr. Jajko, 22, died on July 3, 2014 at the Guelph General Hospital following an injury sustained at a construction project. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding the death of Mr. Jajko. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately 10 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Provincial Offences Court, 59 Carden St., Guelph. Dr. John Ewen will preside as inquest coroner and Leila Mehkeri will be counsel to the coroner.
