Inquest into the Death of Alexie Dallaire-Vincent Announced

Dr. David Eden, Regional Supervising Coroner for Inquests, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Alexie Dallaire-Vincent.

Ms. Dallaire-Vincent, 22, died on May 23, 2015, while working underground at a mine. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Ms. Dallaire-Vincent's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths. 

The inquest is expected to last two days and to hear from approximately five witnesses.

The inquest will commence at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at the Timmins Courthouse, 48 Spruce St. N. Dr. David Cameron will preside as inquest coroner and Dale Cox will be counsel to the coroner.
