Inquest into the Death of Jeffrey Ysebert Announced

Dr. Paul Dungey, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that an inquest will be held in the death of Jeffrey Ysebert.

Mr. Ysebert, 34, died on Jan. 11, 2015 at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre following a transfer from Warkworth Institution.  An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. 

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Ysebert's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last two days and to hear from eight witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at the Cobourg Courthouse, 860 William St.  Dr. Jennifer Tang will preside as inquest coroner and Mark Moorcroft will be counsel to the coroner.
