Inquest into the Death of Brian Daniel Announced

Dr. Rick Mann, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, London Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Brian Daniel.

Mr. Daniel, 55, died on July 2, 2014, while working on a road construction project in St. Thomas. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Daniel's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last four days and to hear from approximately eight witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the St. Thomas Courthouse, 4 Wellington St.  Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke will preside as inquest coroner and Christopher Heron will be counsel to the coroner.
