Inquest into the Death of Jesus Revilla Sanchez Announced

Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Ottawa Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Jesus Revilla Sanchez.

Mr. Revilla Sanchez, 38, died on Dec. 5, 1996 at the Great War Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries sustained while working at a construction site near Perth. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding his death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.  

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available. Dr. David Cameron will preside as inquest coroner and Michael Blain will be counsel to the coroner.
