Inquest Date into the Death of Grant Faulkner Announced

Dr. Roger Skinner, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto West Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Grant Faulkner.

Mr. Faulkner, 49, was a homeless man who died on Jan. 13, 2015, in a fire inside a wooden shack in an industrial park.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Faulkner's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.  

The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 15 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Forensic Services and Coroner's Complex, Court Room A, 25 Morton Shulman Ave., Toronto. Dr. David Eden will preside as inquest coroner. Prabhu Rajan and Troy Harrison will be counsel to the coroner.
