Inquest Date into the Death of Jacob Reimer Announced

Dr. Rick Mann, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, London Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Jacob Reimer.

Mr. Reimer, 44, died in hospital on July 8, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained at a construction project in Leamington. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Reimer's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately nine witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Superior Court of Justice, 245 Windsor Ave., Windsor. Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke will preside as inquest coroner and Gideon Bloch will be counsel to the coroner.
