Inquest Date into the Deaths of Jeremy Huber and Eugene Llewellyn Announced

Dr. Karen Schiff, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the deaths of Jeremy Huber and Eugene Llewellyn.

Mr. Huber, 39, died on September 4, 2015, and Mr. Llewellyn, 54, died on July 15, 2016. Both died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained while working at separate construction sites. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.   

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding their deaths. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The inquest is expected to last four days and hear from approximately 11 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the Hamilton Courthouse, 45 Main St. E.  Dr. Jennifer Tang will preside as inquest coroner. Gracie Romano and Cheryl Gzik will be counsel to the coroner.
