Inquest into the Death of Clifford "Raymond" Lloyd Announced

Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Ottawa Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Clifford "Raymond" Lloyd.

Mr. Lloyd, 77, died in hospital on July 17, 2017, after the dragline excavator he was operating tipped and became submerged in the pond at a quarry in Prescott. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Lloyd's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available. Dr. Bob Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner and Claudette Breault will be counsel to the coroner.
