Inquest into the Death of Todd Feairs Announced

Dr. Bonnie Burke, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Todd Feairs.

Mr. Feairs, 41, died on October 12, 2016, while working at a construction site when he was struck by a vehicle fleeing police pursuit. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Feairs. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The inquest is expected to last five days and hear from approximately 13 witnesses. 

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Court Room B, Forensic Services and Coroner's Complex, 25 Morton Shulman Ave., Toronto. Dr. David Eden will preside as inquest coroner and Jason Balgopal will be counsel to the coroner.
