Inquest Date into the Death of Kevin Raposo Announced

Dr. Bonnie Burke, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, announced today that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Kevin Raposo.

Mr. Raposo, 29, died on August 23, 2013, from injuries sustained from a fall from height at a construction site. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Raposo's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The inquest is expected to last five days and hear from approximately 12 witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2019, at the Coroner's Courts, Courtroom B, 25 Morton Shulman Ave., Toronto. Dr. Robert Boyko will preside as inquest coroner and Matt Shumka will be counsel to the coroner.
