Inquest Date into the Death of Saifullah Hanjra Announced

Dr. Kenneth Peckham, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central West Office, announced today that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Saifullah Hanjra.

Mr. Hanjra, 40, died in hospital on December 26, 2015, from injuries sustained while working at a construction site. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Hanjra's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The inquest is expected to last four days and hear from approximately eight witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the Provincial Offenses Courthouse, 5 Ray Lawson Blvd., Brampton. Dr. Robert Boyko will preside as inquest coroner and Sarah Stackhouse will be counsel to the coroner.
