Inquest Date into the Death of Richard Reid Announced

Dr. Kenneth Peckham, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central West Office, announced today that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Richard Reid.

Mr. Reid, 60, died on August 9, 2016, while working at a construction site in Brampton. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Reid's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The inquest is expected to last four days and hear from approximately eight witnesses.

The inquest will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Brampton Provincial Offences Court, 5 Ray Lawson Blvd.  Dr. Mara Goldstein will preside as inquest coroner and Shanna Ferrone will be counsel to the coroner.
