Inquest into the Death of Michael Fournier Bolduc Announced

Dr. Emily Groot, Regional Supervising Coroner for North Region, Sudbury Office, announced details about an inquest being held into the death of Michael Fournier Bolduc.

The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Timmins City Hall, 220 Algonquin Boulevard E., Timmins, Ontario. The inquest is expected to last two days and hear from approximately five witnesses. Dr. Steven Bodley will preside as inquest coroner and Michael Blain will be counsel to the coroner.

Mr. Fournier Bolduc, 26, died on June 25, 2014, when a dead tree fell on him at a mining site near Matheson. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Fournier Bolduc's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
