Inquest Date into the Death of Jatlinder Dhesi Announced

Dr. Bonnie Burke, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, announced today that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Jatlinder Dhesi.

Mr. Dhesi, 21, died in hospital on June 30, 2015, from injuries sustained while working at a construction site. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Dhesi's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The inquest is expected to last three days and hear from three witnesses.

The inquest will start at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at the Coroner's Court, Forensic Services and Coroner's Complex, 25 Morton Shulman Ave., Toronto.  Dr. Geoffrey Bond will preside as inquest coroner and Patrick Woods will be counsel to the coroner.
