Supporting growth and jobs for Fort Erie

McGuinty Government Invests In Region’s Economic Development

New and existing businesses in Fort Erie will benefit from provincial government support announced today.

The region will use provincial funding to explore long-term economic development opportunities, including infrastructure and tourism, that will create growth and jobs.   Ontario is providing $2 million to the Fort Erie Economic Development and Tourism Corporation to help the community to make key decisions about its future.

The province is also helping Fort Erie businesses by removing the east-north ramp at the Concession Road interchange on the QEW.   This $1-million project will improve traffic flow and help businesses attract customers.

  • It is located at the junction of Lake Erie and the Niagara River, across from Buffalo, New York.
  • The Peace Bridge border crossing, located in Fort Erie, links the southern end of the QEW highway with the United States.
