Ontario Helps Craft Brewery Increase Production
McGuinty Government Investment Supports Business Expansion, Job Creation
Ontario is helping an eastern Ontario craft brewery create jobs, grow its business, and expand its market share.
Award-winning Beau's All Natural Brewing Company is investing in new equipment, including fermentation tanks and a bottling line to help boost production and reduce costs. The expansion will add eight new full-time jobs and one part-time job over the next two years, bringing total employment at the brewery to 20.
Partnering with business is a key component of the government's five-point economic plan to grow the economy.
- The Beau's All Natural Brewing Company project is supported by a $98,746 grant under the province's Eastern Ontario Development Fund. Each week, roughly 500 visitors tour the Beau's brewery in Vankleek Hill, an hour's drive east of Ottawa.
- Craft brewers account for about five per cent of Ontario beer market sales and approximately 20 per cent of the jobs in Ontario breweries. Eastern Ontario gained over 200,000 jobs between 1998 and 2008, an increase of nearly 25 per cent.
- To date, the fund has committed over $11.3 million to 28 announced projects representing a total project investment of $72.7 million.
“Eastern Ontario is home to some of the province's most innovative and fastest-growing companies. We are proud to support Beau's All Natural Brewing Company's latest investment, which will help to expand business and create jobs for Ontario families.”
“We are excited to be moving forward with this investment and adding to our team. The Government of Ontario's support will allow us to take advantage of our growing popularity and increase our market share.”
