  • GREATER ACCESS TO LITERACY FOR ONTARIANS

  • Canada Day At Queen's Park

    The province's Canada Day Celebration at Queen's Park starts with new Canadians taking the oath of citizenship. Thirty newcomers from 19 countries will be sworn in as Canadian citizens.

    Free family-friendly attractions, showcasing Ontario's cultural diversity, will follow the ceremony.

    The Citizenship ceremony will take place outside on the main stage, weather permitting. It will be moved inside if needed. Media are welcome to attend both the ceremony and reception for new citizens.

    Traffic Advisory -The following road closures will be in effect Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • Kingston Area Community Heroes To Receive Recognition

    The Kingston Ontario Volunteer Service Award ceremonies will recognize Kingston and surrounding area heroes: its volunteers.

     

    The ceremonies are part of the 46 taking place across the province between March and June in which approximately 9,000 Ontario volunteers are being recognized by the Ontario government.

    Local MPPs are invited to attend the ceremony and to bring greetings.
