Ontario Strengthening Energy Agency Board Governance
Government Appoints New Board Members to Hydro One and OPG
Ontario is appointing Sandra Pupatello to the Board of Directors of Hydro One and Bernard Lord to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to help strengthen the governance of the two agencies.
A former Ontario cabinet minister, Ms. Pupatello is CEO of Windsor Essex Economic Development Corp., and Director, Business Development and Global Markets at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mr. Lord is a former Premier of New Brunswick and current President of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association. As Premier, Mr. Lord planned and announced the refurbishment of New Brunswick's Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station.
Ms. Pupatello and Mr. Lord will provide advice and guidance to help deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy to Ontario's families and businesses.

- Hydro One owns 97 per cent of transmission in Ontario with almost 30,000 kilometres of high-voltage transmission lines.
- OPG is one of the largest power companies in North America.
- In 2012, OPG's generating capacity was more than 19,000 megawatts.
“We have confidence in our agencies’ abilities to conduct business in a responsible manner that respects the interests of Ontario ratepayers. I’d like to welcome Ms. Pupatello and Mr. Lord as new board members and I look forward to working with them to move our electricity sector forward.”
