Improving Access To Government Services In Petawawa
McGuinty Government Opens ServiceOntario Centre at CFB Petawawa
The Province has opened a new ServiceOntario centre at CFB Petawawa to make it easier for Canadian Forces personnel and their families to get government services.
The new centre offers military and non-military families faster and easier access to driver's licence and vehicle registration services. ServiceOntario will also introduce routine health card services at the CFB Petawawa location this summer.
The new centre is a joint project between the Canadian Forces, Canex, the Town of Petawawa and ServiceOntario.
- This new ServiceOntario centre is located at 41 Festubert Boulevard on the Canadian Forces Base in Petawawa.
- By the end of this year, close to 95 per cent of Ontarians will be within 10 kilometres of a fully-integrated ServiceOntario centre.
- Access to health card services will expand from the current 27 OHIP offices to all 300 integrated centres.
“It's important that we respond to community need, and use our resources wisely to provide services in the right way, in the right places. All Ontarians deserve excellent customer service and ServiceOntario is making it easier for people in this community.”
Harinder S. Takhar
“I am delighted that military families in Petawawa now have increased access to driver's licence and vehicle registration services on the base and that by summer they will also be able to renew their health cards at the base. This kind of convenience helps our armed forces families.”
Col. Keith Rudderham
“I am pleased that this joint project gives all Petawawa residents improved access to more government services.”
