McGuinty Government Recognizes 25 Years of Municipal Service

Township of Morley Reeve Gary Gamsby is the latest recipient of a provincial long-standing service award.

Gamsby was one of two municipally elected officials from northwestern Ontario honoured for 25 years of service at the annual Northwestern Ontario Municipal Conference held recently in Thunder Bay.

Long-standing service awards are given to municipally elected officials with at least 25 years of service. The program was introduced by the Ontario government in 2004. As of 2006, those with 50 years of service are also recognized.

Gamsby has been reeve of the Township of Morley since 1982. He is a past president of the Rainy River District Municipal Association and is the Township's representative on the Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board.
