Ontario Funds Mattawa Well Upgrade

McGuinty Government Ensures Safe Drinking Water For Community

Ontario is helping the town of Mattawa complete important water supply upgrades.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund (NOHFC) is contributing an additional $24,940 toward enhancements to the town well.  The work ensures that the community will continue to enjoy clean and safe drinking water that meets the requirements of the Drinking Water Protection Regulation.

  • Mattawa was originally known as “Mahtahwan” which means “Meeting of the Water.”
