The Ontario government is raising the curtain on an important investment in West Nipissing.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $1,500,000 from its Infrastructure and Community Development Program to Les Anciens de Franco-Cité. The funding will support the construction of Le Centre des Arts des Patriotes, a cultural and community centre in Sturgeon Falls.

The facility will include a 500-seat auditorium and an adjoining 1,000 square foot structure, which will serve as a meeting and activity space for community groups.

Quick Facts

  • The Centre will be co-owned by the local school board, le Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord.
  • Les Anciens were incorporated in 2003. The organization’s mission is to promote activities in the arts, music, education, and other community activities in a francophone environment, to foster community spirit and to offer Franco-Cité students and the community the necessary facility and equipment for cultural and artistic activities.
