Three Sault Ste. Marie Entrepreneurs Launch Local Businesses

McGuinty Government Boosting Local Economy, Creates Jobs

Ontario continues to support small businesses and is helping create jobs in the Sault Ste Marie area.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is supporting three local entrepreneurs as they launch new businesses, which are expected to create a total of about nine new jobs. They include:

Mojo's Pizza Kitchen & Eatery - a specialty pizza restaurant with a smoothie/juice bar;
K & M Insurance Services - a full-service insurance brokerage;
Jeanette's Custom Cakes - a home-based business specializing in custom cake design.

The Northern Ontario Entrepreneur Program is part of the government's five-year Open Ontario plan to create jobs and economic opportunities in Northern Ontario.

Quick Facts

  • Under its Northern Ontario Entrepreneur Program, the NOHFC is providing $25,900 to Mojo's Pizza Kitchen & Eatery and $21,816 to K & M Insurance Services.
  • Jeanette's Custom Cakes is receiving $25,000 from the NOHFC's Young Entrepreneur Program to purchase equipment and launch the business.
