NOHFC Supports Parry Sound Area Projects

Ontario Creating Jobs, Strengthening Northern Economy

Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation investments are supporting the development of seven new projects in the Parry Sound region.

Three projects are being supported through the Infrastructure and Community Development Program:

  • Seguin Township is receiving $425,000 to build a small business and resource centre to help launch new businesses and support existing ones.
  • The Parry Sound Area Municipal Airport is getting $474,650 to construct a new 10,000-square foot hangar to accommodate a new private sector tenant. 
  • The Parry Sound and Area Community Business Development Centre will use $44,100 to complete a Smart Community feasibility study.
One business is expanding with help from the Enterprises North Job Creation Program:

  • Connor Industries in Parry Sound is receiving $460,000 to expand its aluminum boat manufacturing operation.
Three entrepreneurs are proceeding with their projects with support from the Emerging Technology Program:

  • Richard Boddington is receiving $490,000 to shoot and produce the feature film Against the Wild in the Parry Sound area.
  • Full Slate Media is receiving $362,900 to produce the film Killing Time in the Parry Sound region.
  • Outpost Media received $87,500 to establish a post-production studio in Parry Sound.
