Supporting Small Business in Sudbury
Ontario Government Boosts Local Economy, Creates Jobs
Ontario is helping to expand specialized dentistry services in Sudbury, creating 10 jobs.
With support from the province's Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), Dr. David Diamond Dentistry Professional Corporation is establishing a dentistry clinic specializing in periodontal and implant surgery. The project involves purchasing specialized dental equipment including dentist chairs and an X-ray machine.
Supporting small businesses is part of the government's economic plan that is creating jobs for today and tomorrow. The comprehensive plan and its six priorities focus on Ontario's greatest strengths - its people and strategic partnerships.
- Ontario provided $425,000 to this project through the NOHFC.
- Since 2003, the NOHFC has invested $136 million in 794 projects in Sudbury, creating or sustaining more than 2,400 jobs.
“By acquiring new equipment and introducing new periodontal services, Dr. Diamond’s practice is providing very important health care for Sudburians closer to home and their families. I am pleased that it is also providing employment opportunities for 10 new staff members.”
“I am delighted that we could support the establishment of this much-needed periodontal clinic in Northeastern Ontario. This investment demonstrates our government’s firm commitment to provide a full-range of health care services in the North and to improving the quality of life for all northerners.”
