NOHFC Invests in Film and Television Projects

The Ontario government, through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, is investing $33.8 million in 51 film and television projects in Northeastern Ontario.

Investments in television production projects include:

  • Read This Productions is receiving $2.3 million to produce the TV series "Cardinal: By The Time You Read This";
  • Cardinal Black Fly Productions is receiving $2.7 million to shoot the TV series "Cardinal: Black Fly Season";
  • Collingwood TV Productions is receiving $3.5 million to produce the TV series "Carter";
  • TVO is receiving $800,000 to film season 5 of the "Hard Rock Medical" TV program;
  • Food Market Films Inc. is receiving $1.4 million to produce "Bad Blood, The Vito Rizzuto Story"
  • Groupe Média TFO is receiving $762,000 to shoot "Amélie et Compagnie" (23 to 44)
  • Canadian Spirits (Mini Series 1) Inc. is receiving $75,260 to shoot the "Canadian Spirits", animated TV series

Investments in film production projects include:

  • HP Flower Shops Mysteries Productions is receiving $2 million to shoot four "Flower Shop Mysteries" TV movies;
  • Serendipity Point Films is receiving $1 million to produce "Through Black Spruce"
  • Riot Girls Film Inc is receiving $500,000 to produce "Riot Girls"
  • Paragraph Pictures is receiving $500,000 to shoot "The Bet"
  • Impossible Things Production is receiving $500,000 to produce "Impossible Things"
  • Pyewacket JoBro Productions is receiving $500,000 to shoot "Pyewacket"
  • Giant Little Ones Film Inc. is receiving $500,000 to produce "GLO"
  • The Void Movie Inc. is receiving $500,000 to shoot "The Void"
  • Industry Pictures Inc. is receiving $500,000 to produce "Brotherhood"
  • September 17th Studio is receiving $500,000 to shoot "Extracurricular"
  • Historic Homes Pictures Inc. is receiving $350,000 to shoot "Historic Homes of the Future"
  • HP Angel Falls Productions Inc is receiving $500,000 to produce "Angel Falls"
  • Canine Christmas Productions is receiving $484,756 to shoot "A Canine Christmas Carol"
  • Wooden Santas North Bay Inc. is receiving $455,801 to shoot a TV movie, "The House of Wooden Santas"
  • HP Christmas Inheritance Production is receiving $500,000 to produce "Christmas Inheritance"
  • Panther Mountain Films Inc. is receiving $500,000 to shoot "One Night on Panther Mountain"
  • Harlequin Movie V Production is receiving $500,000 to produce "Harlequin Movie V"

  • Cumberland Pictures Inc. is receiving $300,058 to shoot the documentary; "Thunder, The Francis Pegahmagabow Story"
  • DAARR Inc. is receiving $76,702 to produce the documentary, "Death, Art & Rock n' Roll"

Investments in equipment for film and television production businesses include:

  • Sawasquirrel Productions Inc. is receiving $35,913 to set-up a post-production business
  • Greenboots Media Company Ltd. is receiving $6,250 to acquire specialized technology
