Ontario Man Fined $8,000 for Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes

Penalty Imposed: A fine of $8,000 was imposed on Mr. Walker. He was given 12 months to pay. The court also imposed a 25-per-cent victim fine surcharge as required under the Provincial Offences Act.
Background: On June 19, 2017, Ministry of Finance investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Norman Street in Stratford. The search revealed 44,400 unmarked cigarettes. The cigarettes were seized and forfeited.
