Date of Conviction: February 20, 2018, at the Toronto West Provincial Offences Court

Penalties Imposed: A fine of $37,880 and a probation order for two years were imposed. Ziyad Ahmed was given one year to pay. The court also imposed a 25 per cent victim fine surcharge as required under the Provincial Offences Act.

Background: On November 8, 2016, a search warrant was executed at Five Star Market Ltd. in Toronto. During the search officers seized 79,440 unmarked cigarettes. All tobacco products were seized and forfeited.
