McGuinty Government Providing Families Better Care Closer To Home
Ontario is helping to build a new hospital to ensure that families in Wellington County area have better access to state-of-the-art health care, closer to home.
Groves Memorial Community Hospital will build a new building on a new site that will improve patient care and safety through a modernized layout and better coordination between key clinical areas.
Investing in modern and efficient hospitals that support the needs of our aging and diversifying population is part of Building Together, Ontario's long-term infrastructure plan. Ontario will continue to make significant investments in public infrastructure over the next decade to improve the quality of life for families.
- Groves Memorial Community Hospital is a rural, acute care facility providing a wide range of services to about 34,500 people.
- The hospital, which has 44 beds and 277 staff, treats more than 68,000 people each year.
- Ontario has invested in more than 100 major hospital capital projects since 2003. This includes 18 brand new hospitals that are either completed or in development.
