Infrastructure Stimulus Fund at Work in Ontario

Ministry of Infrastructure

The Government of Canada established the $4-billion Infrastructure Stimulus Fund through its Economic Action Plan, providing funding to construction-ready infrastructure projects. Funding is supporting projects that can be completed by March 31, 2011. This initiative is structured to flow funding and get shovels in the ground quickly.

Under the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, the governments of Canada and Ontario are providing nearly $62.8 million in joint funding for 60 infrastructure projects across the province of Ontario under three project categories: cultural infrastructure, parks and trails, and regional transit.

The Governments of Canada and Ontario will each contribute nearly $31.4 million towards the total eligible costs of these initiatives.
