Creating Jobs and Growth in Eastern Ontario

Province Investing in Local Economic Development

Ministry of Rural Affairs

Ontario is helping communities in eastern Ontario boost tourism, attract investment and create jobs.

The province is providing $160,000 through the Rural Economic Development Program to:

  • Help the City of Belleville develop a business retention and expansion plan that will revitalize its downtown, attract new business and boost local tourism
  • Help the Township of Brock run a two-year community initiative that will foster local business development and create jobs through digital marketing activities and leading-edge recruitment practices

Supporting rural communities is part of the government's economic plan that is creating jobs for today and tomorrow. The comprehensive plan and its six priorities focus on Ontario's greatest strengths - its people and strategic partnerships.
