Marketing Plan To Boost West Nipissing Economy

McGuinty Government Helps Make West Nipissing a Tourist Destination of Choice

Ontario is helping the Municipality of West Nipissing develop a marketing strategy to increase tourism and create jobs.

The province is investing $25,000 to help the municipality and its partners develop a strategy to position the community as an attractive destination for tourists, investors and businesses looking to relocate. As part of the project, the municipality will also conduct research to gain the insights of residents in developing a new slogan and brand identity for West Nipissing.

The funding is part of the Rural Economic Development Program which invests in community-based projects in three priority areas:

  • Improved access to health care services
  • Revitalized communities and downtowns
  • Enhanced skills training.

Quick Facts

  • Since 2003, Ontario has invested $50 million in 158 projects through the Rural Economic Development Program.
